The Role of Case Based Planning in Large Scale Planning Systems

Introduction Large-scale planning must employ many disparate planning and decision-making systems, operating over disparate databases to solve many disparate problems. The problem of coordinating so many systems and so many users over so many different sites is immense. The fundamental conclusion we have arrived at as a result of our research on deployment transport planning is that Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) offers a viable lingua franca for large-scale planning.
